So I've been working out quite a bit lately. My mom went and decided to get some home gym equipment. What she got was a Bowflex machine. I thought that was a pretty stupid machine to get but after using it a couple of times, it really changed my mind. I know that she did quite a bit of research beforehand from here: http://powerliftingbelts.org/best-bowflex-models/
Let's be realistic. Bowflex machines are no different to any other home fitness equipment or just about any other type of exercise machine. Regardless how much the infomercial or the advertising folks behind Bowflex would like you to believe that. I understand there is still a number of you that are wondering - does the Bowflex really do what is expected- and also the question has more to do with that it does not use natural free weights to create resistance. Bowflex uses Power Rod Technology which can make it quite a versatile piece of gym equipment. But it still looks quite strange. Essentially it is a mash up between resistance bands and a cable machine. It will not use body weight for resistance unlike conventional home fitness equipment and this is what makes it kind of unique.
